On April 1, we held our first-ever Mixer Truck Rodeo for twelve of our top Concrete Delivery Professionals. The rodeo helped us select finalists to compete in the ORMCA’s Mixer Driver Championship and helped our drivers prepare for the competition.
The Dolese Truck Rodeo included driving challenges such as tightest turn, parallel parking, tennis ball drive-through, front and back stop, and even basketball hoop shooting. Drivers also took a written exam and participated in a vehicle inspection.
Judges included members of the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) team and batch plant managers.
CDP participants
The following CDPs—four from the OKC Metro, three from Tulsa, and one from each geographical region—competed in the rodeo. As this year’s Dolese Driver of the Year, Tommy “Kriss” Ballard from Durant had an automatic spot in the competition. All participants received a Dolese polo shirt, and the HSE team cooked steaks for all competitors following the event.
